Tokyo Station, Marunouchi, Otemachi - Tokyo Seasonal Guide

Tokyo Station, Marunouchi, Otemachi

Tokyo Station

Tokyo Station is the gateway to Tokyo. Renovated in 2012, the station was designed by Kingo Tatsuno, a pioneer of modern Japanese architecture, and faithfully recreates the original appearance of the station when it was built in 1914.
The beautiful station building is a popular spot for wedding photos. If you are lucky, you may meet the bride and groom.
Tokyo Station serves not only as a station, but is also lined with restaurants and souvenir shops, so you can spend a whole day there and not get bored.

Imperial Palace

The Imperial Palace is home to the emperors of Japan. It was originally the Edo Castle, which was delivered by the Tokugawa family of samurai. Part of it is open to the public and visitors can enjoy the gardens and plazas.

East Garden

The Imperial Palace's most notable attraction is the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. Parts of the Honmaru, Ninomaru, and Sanomaru of the former Edo Castle are open to the public.
The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace cover an area of approximately 210,000 square meters, and many historic sites remain, including stonewalls, the castle tower, Fujimi-yagura, and gardens. The gardens are filled with seasonal flowers and grasses, attracting many tourists from Japan and abroad.
This is the site of the Honmaru of Edo Castle.

Inui Street

Twice a year, during the cherry blossom and fall foliage seasons, Inui-dori is open to the public. Visitors can walk through the streets of the Imperial Palace, which are normally inaccessible.
